Graveside services for Mr. Homer Selman, 94, of Cypress, Texas were held 12:30 P.M., Friday, May 7, 2021 at Concord Cemetery, Concord, Texas. Bro. Billy Bob Evans officiated the service. Funeral honors were rendered by the American Legion–Centerville and the Veterans Honor Guard–Palestine.
Homer Ray Selman was born June 6, 1926 in Concord, Texas to Dewey Leo & Ora Mae (Cundiff) Selman. He was raised in Concord and served his country in the U.S. Army. Homer received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas and worked as a geophysicist until his retirement. He and his lovely wife, Joyce, had lived in Cypress for the past fifty-four years. Homer was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and all of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Homer passed away peacefully at his home May 3, 2021. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and grandson, Jon Selman. Surviving family members include wife, Joyce White Selman of Cypress; sons, Byron Selman of Lyons, CO and Dean (Becky) Selman of Wimberley; daughters, Debra (Stuart) Goldman of Houston and Lisa (Russell) Baumbach of Cedar Creek; grandchildren, Jacob Selman, Kate Soheili, Christina Lynch, Tyler Goldman, Grant Selman, Corbin Selman, Hayden Goldman, Braden Baumbach and Briana Baumbach, as well as great-grandchildren, Helen Soheili, Clara Soheili, Lyla Lynch, Bill Lynch and Isabel Lynch.
Walters Funeral Home, Centerville was in charge of final arrangements.
