Ruth (Tarver) King, age 92, passed away at her home January 28, 2020. She was born April 11, 1927 in Brookhaven, Mississippi to Bud & Addie (Matthews) Tarver, and worked as a bookkeeper most of her life. Ruth also owned and operated King Country Store, east of Centerville, for many years. Ruth had been a resident of Centerville for the past thirty-five years and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
Ruth was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Robert P. King; children, Harold Ray King, Nancy McBride and Tommy King; granddaughter, Tammy Allen and great, great-grandson Noah Allen.
Surviving family members include son, Billy King of Centerville; brother, Guy Tarver of Jackson, Mississippi; sister, Mabelle Gibson of Brookhaven, Mississippi; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ruth were held 2 P.M., Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Bro. Jim Bob Gunnels and Bro. Bo Gunnels officiated the service. Interment was in North Creek Cemetery.
