William Lawson “Bill” Hargrove

Bill Hargrove, 80, passed away January 11, 2020 at his home. Funeral services were held 2 P.M., Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. Rev. Ray Payne, pastor of Ephesus Baptist Church in Jewett, officiated the service. Interment was in Parker Cemetery, south of Buffalo in the Flo Community.
William Lawson “Bill” Hargrove was born February 20, 1939 in Valdosta, Georgia to William Richard & Jewell Hargrove. He was the owner and operator of Buffalo Alternator Service. Bill was an excellent harmonica player and avid knife thrower and quick drawer. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. In his younger years, Bill enjoyed gardening.
Bill loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He always helped people, even when he knew he wouldn’t get paid for his services. Bill had a unique laugh and always had a good joke to tell.
Bill was preceded in death by both of his parents and one great-grandchild. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Betty Joe Hargrove of Buffalo; sons, Richard Lawson “Ricky” Hargrove (Pam) of Buffalo and Ralph “Wayne” Hargrove of Buffalo; daughters, Patrica Darlene Moon (Kenneth) of Groesbeck, Robin Elaine Ferguson of Buffalo and Ruby Denise Williams (Carrey) of Buffalo; sisters, Mary Nell Simpson of Bruton, AL and Rachel Laquita Marsh of Athens; brother, Bobby Joe Hargrove of Buffalo; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers: Andy Stevens, Ricky Hargrove, Heath Williams, Johann Wilson, Kristianna Wilson, Cody Nichols
Arrangements were under the direction of Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas.
