Graveside services for Martin Winefred Hastings were held on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Sardis Cemetery in Jewett. Chaplain Karen Hulsey officiated.
Mr. Hastings passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Mr. Hastings was born on March 10, 1938 in Jewett, Texas to Henry David and Viley Hastings. He married the love of his life, Elaine Dugi, on August 21, 1969. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2019. Martin loved his grandchildren deeply and will forever live on in their hearts and through memories.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Hastings of Leachville, Arkansas; one son, David Hastings & wife Sandy of Leachville, Arkansas; one daughter, Amy Cox of Fort Worth, Texas; three grandchildren, Mason, Nathan and Riley; many brothers and sisters.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House, 1148 E. Matthews Avenue, Jonesboro, AR 72401.
Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Jewett was in charge of arragements.

    This was my Uncle, I almost drowned the same day he died. He was the only Uncle in the Whole world I had.
    I am ever so sorrowful, I did not see him before he passed.

    Uncle martin was the best, i loved spending time with him fishing and hunting a having a cold beer with him. He used to call me Jimmy the Cricket cause i was so little, but i finally grew up. He was a good old guy, him and my dad Eskill got along well, im glad i was a part of his life , Little Jimmy Hastings.
