Willie Polk, Jr. was born November 27, 1929 in Leon County, Texas to the parentage of Willie Polk, Sr. and Everlene Davis. He attended school in Leon County and was baptized at an early age.
Mr. Polk worked for Proctor & Gamble and had lived in the Leon County area his entire life. He was a member of the Two Mile United Methodist Church in Leona, Texas.
Mr. Polk passed away June 3, 2019 following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; son, Earl Polk; grandson, Kenneth Donalson; five brothers and five sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory are children, Velma Chambers (Otis, Sr.) of Grand Prairie, Lorraine James of Arlington, Richard Polk of Leona, Clifton Polk of Buffalo, Larry Polk of Centerville, Malcolm Polk of Leona, Willie Glen Polk of Leona and Patricia Dristle of Dallas; daughter-in-law, Sandra Polk; grandchildren, Damien Chambers, Otis Chambers, Rochelle Polk, Arthur Polk, Qualon Polk, Brandon Polk, Erneisha Polk, Floyd Polk, Derrick Polk, Marquita Harris, Willie Harris, Justin Harris, Larry Nelloms, Lance Crossley, JaQuice Johnson, Malcolm Haven, Sharda Manning, Jacquelyn Manning, Nina Johnson, Richard Polk, Jr. & Skyar Polk and thirty-two great-grandchildren. Mr. Polk is also survived by brothers, Bennie Earl, Porter, Charlie & Sam Polk; sisters, Myrtle Polk, Evelyn Jones, Rodis & Louise and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Homegoing services for Mr. Polk were held 1 P.M., Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Rev. Alton Davis officiated the service and burial followed in Two Mile Cemetery outside of Leona, Texas.
