Preston Lane Selman

Funeral services for Preston Lane Selman were held on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Jewett. A private interment followed the service.
Preston passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Hermann Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Selman was born on September 25, 1997 in Palestine. He grew up in Madisonville and Leon County. Preston attended auto mechanic school at Lone Star Community College in Conroe. He enjoyed playing baseball, fishing, paintball, playing video games and going to the movies; but most of all he loved music. He spent many hours listening to music and playing the guitar. Preston loved people, had a big heart and was always willing to help others. He briefly worked as a correctional officer for TDCJ and was currently working in carpentry. Preston was a Christian and attended several churches and bible studies through the years. He considered his father his best friend.
He is survived by his father, Randall Selman & wife Jennifer of Jewett; his mother, Tonya Downard & husband Doug of Madisonville; two brothers, Austin Ashley and Keith Downard; three sisters, Katelynn Thomas, Zoie Selman, and Jaylen Downard; paternal grandparents, Margaret & Larry Selman of Robbins; maternal grandparents, Richard & Billie Jo Deal of Buffalo; one uncle, Dennis Thane & wife Janet; two aunts, Tiffany Deal, and Teri Schlabach; and numerous cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to House of Hope, 901 W. Trinity St., Madisonville, Texas 77864.
