Graveside services for Gerald Williams were held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Stevens Cemetery near Flo, Texas. Rev. Ray Payne officiated.
Mr. Williams passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Gerald Randolph Williams was born on August 19, 1931 in Keechi, Texas to Randolph Buchanan Williams and Nettie Irene Smith. A 1949 graduate of Buffalo High School, Gerald served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954, and was on reserve until 1960. On October 19, 1952, he married the love of his life, Betty Carolyn Williams. Gerald was employed by Monsanto Chemical Company for the later part of his career and worked as an Area Specialist, Instrument and Electrical Supervisor until he retired in 1991. Gerald loved the Lord and was very active in the Nazarene denomination. He gladly served for over 30 years in the Nazarene church as a Sunday School Superintendent. Later in life, Gerald and his wife Betty purchased a home in Marquez, Texas and became members of the Ephesus Baptist Church, Marquez, Texas. Gerald was also very knowledgeable about auto mechanics and was often found working on a car, many times for one of his daughters. Gerald loved tending to and growing a large vegetable garden.
Mr. Williams is survived by his brother Engle Dale Williams & wife Jean; five daughters, Carol Urquhart & husband Brad, Sandra Morgan & husband Audie, Janet Small, Lisa Gonzalez & husband Will, and Carolyn Williams; as well as thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren – all of whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty; two brothers, Wade Williams and Carrol Williams.
Arrangements were under the direction of Bowers Funeral Home.
