Funeral services for W. T. (T-bone) Hammock will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Jewett. Bro. Billy Bob Evans will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Concord Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Hammock passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Bryan.
He was born in Concord on June 24, 1937, and was a lifelong resident of Leon County.
He attended school in Concord and Marquez and played basketball for the Marquez Yellowjackets. Mr. Hammock left school to go to work and began a career as a pipeline welder that would last over fifty years. He traveled all over the country with his trade and worked on major projects such as the Alaskan Pipeline and projects in the North Sea. Mr. Hammock enjoyed fishing, gardening, and wood working.
He is survived by one daughter, Shirley Gressett & husband Mitchell of Concord; two sons, Tommy Hammock & wife Betty of Cleveland, and Robert Hammock of Concord; three grandchildren, Sherry Gressett, Harlon Gressett, and Cody Hammock; four great-grandchildren, Tanner Farris, Trinity Warner, Aspen Clark, and Eli Watson; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Hammock was preceded in death by his wife, Ima Gene Hammock; one son Ronald Dean Hammock; his parents, Vincent & Ruby Hammock; two brothers, Doyle Hammock and Vernon Hammock; and one sister, Vana Mae Smith.
