Robert “Stanley” Robinson was born May 25, 1935 in Centerville, Texas to William Bryan & Ouida (Ward) Robinson. He was raised in Centerville and graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree. In his early years, Stanley worked for NASA as an engineer during the Apollo Space Program. He had the opportunity to be on the USS Ticonderoga during the recovery of a space capsule with the U.S. Astronauts on board after it had reentered the earth’s atmosphere and landed in the ocean. Stanley owned the local Western Auto in Buffalo and later turned it into Ace Hardware. He had lived in Buffalo for  thirty-four years and in Lake Limestone for ten years and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Donie.
Stanley enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, hunting and fishing. His favorite food was ice cream. He didn’t have a favorite brand or flavor–any kind of ice cream would suit him just fine. Most of all, Stanley enjoyed the company of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
