A Celebration of Life service for Gavin Ray Taylor, 19, of Troup, was held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018 at the Gospel Barn Church of Troup, with Pastor Jonathan Saunders officiating.
Gavin passed away Friday, August 31, 2018. He was born July 10, 1999 in Longview. He was a mechanic, and loved to work with his hands. He was adventurous, and loved to spend time with his friends. He was also a compassionate person with a bright smile, who never met anyone he didn’t want to help. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Clara and Norman Meredith, and great-grandmothers, Lynette Bottoms and Orlena Bottoms. Survivors include: his mother and father, Nicole Meredith of Troup and Jason Taylor of Alabama; grandparents, Gary and Dianne Guthrie of Troup, Mikel and Leaurme Meredith of Longview, and Rhonda Taylor of Troy, Alabama; great-grandfather, Dale Bottoms of Jewett; brothers, Coltin Taylor and Quintin Taylor, both of Troup, and sister, Kaitlyn Taylor of Troup; special friend, Devin Klotz of Gilmer; aunts and uncles, Jon Moody, Nikki Moody, Betty File, Amber Saunders and husband Jonathan, Jana Jackson, Andrew Meredith and wife Brittany, Rebekah Bernstein, and Trey Bernstein; great-aunts, Judy Stephens, Sheila Weil, and Susan Prozzo; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
