Fred Wayne Robinson

Funeral services for Fred Wayne Robinson of Jewett, were held on Sunday, September 2, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Jewett. A private burial followed the service.
Mr. Robinson passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Bryan.
F.W. or Ft. Worth, as he became fondly known by many of his friends, was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on July 4, 1946 to Fred S. (Punch) and Jessie Nell Salmons Robinson. Wayne graduated from Leon High School in 1964. He married Peggy McCoslin in 1965, and together had three sons, Kenneth Wayne, Jeffrey Dean, and Fred Curtis. Mr. Robinson worked several years in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area while living in Irving, until 1972 when the family moved to Jewett. He worked for the Burlington Northern/Santa Fe Railroad in Teague for 30 years until his retirement in 2002.
He is survived by his three sons, Kenneth Robinson & wife Tina of College Station and their two sons, Taylor and Kade; Jeff Robinson & Jo Fran Edwards of Marquez and Jeff’s children, Kelsey, Kaitlyn, and twins Jacob & Jordan Robinson; Fred Curtis Robinson & wife Lyzelle of Hilltop Lakes and their two sons, Carter & Finn Robinson; one great-grandson, Easton Clary; one sister, Margaret Ann Tracey of Marquez; one brother, Don Robinson of Jewett; and a host of family and friends.
Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his parents, Nell & Punch Robinson; and one sister Nelda Padgett.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Joseph’s Medical Center, 2801 Franciscan Drive, Bryan, Texas 77802.
