Funeral services for Doris Lanelle Roberts Fisher, 83, of College Station, were held on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Sardis Baptist Church, Jewett. Brother James Engle officiated. Lanelle passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018, at Baylor-Scott & White Hospital in College Station, Texas.
Lanelle was born August 4, 1934, to the late Claude and Doris (Harvey) Nobles. She attended school all twelve years in Jewett and graduated as valedictorian of her class in 1952. She received a scholarship to Texas Women’s University, but instead, chose to attend Houston Business College. Lanelle raised her family in Pasadena and the Clear Lake area. She was employed by HL&P during the construction phase, and later worked as court coordinator for Judge Shafer in the Harris County Criminal Court System. She was currently a member of Christ United Methodist Church in College Station.
Lanelle is survived by one son, Kervin Roberts; one sister, Mary Beth Cox and husband Walter of Pasadena; one brother, Charles Nobles and wife Sue of Arizona; one grandson, Jarad Roberts of College-Station; one granddaughter, Lindsay Roberts of Seabrook, Texas; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Fisher; one daughter, Kim Roberts; one son, Mike Roberts; two sisters, Carol Ruth Murphy and Paula Montgomery Walker; and one half-sister, Delores (Nobles) Prestidge.
Arrangements were under the direction of Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.
