Funeral services for Kenneth Truett Isbell, 83, of Jewett, were Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville. Rev. Dwain Pollard officiated, and interment was in the Concord Cemetery.
Kenneth Isbell was born in Iola, Texas on November 25, 1934. His parents were Truett Van Isbell and LaVerne (Yeager) Isbell. He was a graduate of Bedias High School, then attended Sam Houston College where he also drove a Mrs. Baird’s truck in the afternoon after classes. He worked for Coca Cola for about 12 years. Then, he went to work for Frito-Lay as a distributor. After he retired from Frito-Lay, he became a full-time rancher. He and his family lived in Leon County since 1975.
Kenneth was a member of the Flynn Baptist Church in Flynn. He served as President on the Concord Robbins Water Supply. He and his wife would have been married 66 years this coming March. He passed away on January 19, 2018 in College Station.
Survived by his wife, Jean Isbell, of Jewett; two sons, Scott Isbell (Carol) of Jewett and Alan Isbell (fiancée Renee Brantley) of Centerville; a daughter, Donna Isbell (fiancee Edward Tubb) of Centerville; five grandchildren, Shane Isbell, Lindsey Isbell, Amy Smith, Casey Smith and Allison Smith and six great-grandchildren, Kinsey Isbell, Christopher Torres, Travis Isbell, Jace Pruett, Miya Hamilton and Cali Hamilton.
Serving as pallbearers were Don Sony, Kenneth Hendricks, Don Ferguson, Edward Tubb, Shane Isbell and Brad Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Dorin Treadway, Wallace Dunkin, Louis Fondren, Gilbert Rivera, Bobby Slaydon and Rusty Teston.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Leon County Food Pantry.
