Gary Reeves, age 63 of Centerville, passed away January 10, 2018, in College Station, Texas. A memorial service to celebrate his life was held at 10 A.M., Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the Cowboy Church of Leon County. Pastor Tuffy Loftin officiated the service. Walters Funeral Home in Centerville was in charge of arrangements.
Gary Ray Reeves was born November 24, 1954, in Houston, Texas. His parents were Franklin Jr. &and Lillian (Wade) Reeves. He was a self-employed heavy equipment operator. Gary thoroughly enjoyed his job and working with his equipment.
Gary was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed drag racing—not just watching but racing cars, himself. He was a bit of a daredevil, always willing to try anything once. Gary lived his life the way that he wanted—his way. However, his family always came first. They adored him and he returned that adoration tenfold. Gary had lived in Centerville since 2002, coming from Hockley, Texas and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Centerville.
Gary was preceded in death by both of his parents; beloved son, Garret Reeves and brother, Frank Reeves. Surviving family members include wife, Barbara Reeves of Centerville; son and daughter-in-law, Larret and Jennifer Reeves of Grapeland; daughter and son-in-law, Miranda and Matthew Hubble of Centerville and grandchildren, Blake Reeves, Cheyanne Reeves, Larren Reeves, Garret Reeves, Charmayne Hubble, Brent Hubble, Weston Reeves, Gatlin Reeves, Lilly Hubble and Grace Hubble. Gary is also survived by sisters, Tina Vollmer and husband, Bryan and Lauri Wernecke and husband, Randall, all of Tomball and aunts, Shirley Williams, Maggie Schultz and husband, Vernon and Lorene Wade.
Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas was in charge of all arrangements.
