A private interment for Mary Jean Birch, 90, was held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston.
Mrs. Birch passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017, at the Fairfield Nursing and Rehab Center in Fairfield.
She was born in Texarkana, Texas on April 16, 1927. Mary Jean moved to Houston with her family as a teenager, where she lived most of her life. She married William Wayne Birch on February 18, 1947, and shared over sixty-two years of marriage together until being separated by his death on December 2, 2009. Mrs. Birch resided for several years in Normangee before moving to Oakwood before her husband’s death. She enjoyed growing flowers and studying genealogy, playing dominoes with friends, and attending First Baptist Church in Buffalo while her health permitted.
Survived by one daughter, Shirley Williams and husband Kenneth of Buffalo; two grandsons, Paul Williams and wife, Melanie, and David Williams and wife, Ana, all of Houston; and two grandchildren, Trenton Williams and Ashleigh Cook.
Preceded in death by her husband, William Wayne Birch, and one brother, R. B. Campbell.
