Ava Nelle Taylor

Funeral services for Nelle Taylor, 88, of Jewett, were held Thursday, December 28, 2017, at the Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. Bro. Phil Smith officiated the service. Interment was in the Sardis Cemetery outside of Jewett, Texas.
Ava Nelle Taylor was born on April 8, 1929, in Jewett, Texas to Oram G. and Ruth (Russell) Holmes. She was a lifelong resident of Leon County, living many years in Buffalo. Nelle was a very musically talented individual. She enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. She also played the piano. Nelle loved to go dancing, watching television and playing bingo. She was a people person and therefore, never met a stranger. Everyone who knew her loved her and will miss her dearly. Nelle was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church. She passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017, in Jewett.
Preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Thomas Jack Taylor, Sr. and son, Thomas Jack Taylor, Jr.
Surviving family members are one son and daughter-in-law, Joe Wayne and Mary Ann Taylor of Jewett; one  daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Kenneth Dale Caldwell of Jewett; three grandchildren, Thomas Jack “Red” Taylor, III, B.J. Bunn & Mellanie Weatherly Sparkman; two great-grandchildren, Savanna Marie Taylor and  Samantha Lee Russom and three great-great-grandchildren, Jayden Durgan, Nico Wesley and Rylie Jo Taylor.
Pallbearers were  Reymundo Moreno, Joe Pat Caldwell, Steve Oliver, William “Peewee” Wells, Jason Richardson and Thomas L. Williams
Honorary Pallbearer was John Sitton.
Walters Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas was in charge of all arrangements.
