The Leon Community Food Pantry and Clothes Closet presented Mrs. Joyce Sanders, and in memory of Jack Sanders, a plaque honoring their designation as Founding Members of the LCPC.  Their support has been a blessing in allowing the LCPC to give food and clothing to those in our community who are in need.  Many times families need a little help to get them through a difficult time and hunger is no friend.  The LCPC serves approx. 115 families each month.  Families come from all over Leon County for help.  The LCPC also participates in a Senior Box program where extra food is given to seniors who are below the poverty level as well as the Back Pack Program where a pack of food is given to children in need at the Leon ISD each Friday to take home.  This allows some nourishment when they may depend on the school lunch program during the week.  The LCPC is overwhelmed with the support of our community.  Anyone wishing to make a donation or volunteer can come by during operating hours each Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00am until 2:00pm or call 903-626-5215 or mail at P. O. Box 118, Jewett, TX  75846.
