D. A. (Deral Allen) Milliken, Sr.

Graveside services for D. A. (Deral Allen) Milliken, Sr., 82,  were held on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Rockland Cemetery in Lovelady, TX. Bro. Lee Weiler officiated.
Mr. Milliken passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at his residence near Jewett.
He was born on February 4, 1935, in Crosby, TX, to Harvey Albert (Jack) and Mildred Alene French Milliken. Mr. Milliken served in the U. S. Army. He married Colleen Barber on May 3, 1986, and they enjoyed thirty-one years of marriage together. D. A. was employed by the Port Terminal Railroad in Houston for forty-two years, retiring in 1999. He cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren and enjoyed hunting and fishing. D. A. looked forward to football season each year so he could cheer on his Taylor Ducks and Texas Longhorns. He had many fond memories of his school years in Taylor and attended regular get-togethers with his classmates. Mr. Milliken was a member of the V.F.W. Post #3542 in Jewett and devoted many years working at the local hall in Jewett where he made many friends.
Survived by his wife, Colleen Milliken of Jewett; four sons, Deral Milliken and wife, Peggy, of Taylor, Bobby Milliken and wife, Rhonda, of Caldwell, Jay Barber and Jimmy Barber both of Jewett, one daughter, Shelley Moen and husband, Gary, of Marquez; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Rebecca Gray and husband, James, of Palestine; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by his father, mother, and step-father, Dan McDonald; and by an infant daughter, Sharon Rene Milliken.
