Jimmy Dann

Jimmy Dann, age 85 of Jewett, Texas, passed away on August 29, 2017 at his residence. Jimmy was born on August 29, 1932 in Alvin, Texas & raised in Iowa Colony, Texas. He had been a resident of Jewett, Texas for the last 10 years.
He served in the army during the Korean War. He loved hunting & fishing with his grandsons. He loved gardening, playing dominoes & most of all, playing fetch with his dog “Peppy.”
He had a plumbing business in Alvin for over 35 years before retiring in 2007. After retiring he moved to Jewett, Texas to the place he was so proud of. He worked hard and started buying property in 1960. It was his dream to one day live on his farm with his family around him. He was happiest when he and Frank were running the bulldozers or tractors, building fences or working the cows.
Proceeded in death by his wife, Jo Nell Dann, his wife of 37 years; parents, Ross Jay Dann and Rosamund Mae Pritchett; sisters, Viola Hamby and Lillian Dann; brothers, Bill Dann, Bob Dann and Johnny Dann.
Survived by his daughters, Paula Dann & son-in-law, Frank Truksa of Jewett, Texas, Jamie Dann of Jewett, Texas, sisters, Mary Rhoads, Rosie Rose and Aggie Parish, brother, Buddy Dann; grandchildren, Paul Truksa and Adam Truksa, great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn Truksa, Zachary Truksa, Elysea Ojeda and Diore Nelson, along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Serving as Pallbearers are Dean Hamby, Kevin Stinson, Ray Parish, Stuart Perry, Kevin Keels and Jonathan Keels.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Frank Truksa, Paul Truksa, Adam Truksa, Buddy Dann, Jimmy Harris, Zachary Truksa and Ronald Keels.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Scott Funeral Home with Funeral Services beginning at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery, Alvin, Texas.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made in Jimmy’s honor to the American Heart Association.
