Lee Royce Sanders passed away peacefully August 19, 2017 at home with his family in Montgomery, TX.
He was born on July 16, 1933, in Hugo, Oklahoma. Lee celebrated his 84th birthday with family and friends at a party in his honor on July 30, 2017.
His is preceded in death by his parents, A.B. and Ella Sanders, siblings, Jenny Ruth Sanders, Donald W. Sanders, Maxine Hammond and Lelia Long; his daughter, Kristi Sanders Pittman and grandson, Kenneth “Chipper” Pittman.
Lee is survived by his wife of 63 years, Frankie Petty Sanders, one brother, Melvin Jack Sanders, children Pamela Sanders Thompson, Richard Nelson Sanders, Debra Kaye Sanders, Del Ray Sanders, son-in-law, Roger Dale Stringer, 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and counting, and many nieces and nephews.
Lee was a member of Masonic Lodge #1155 for over 50 years and was honorably discharged from the U. S. Air Force. After many years as a Pasadena Police Sergeant and a Port Terminal Railroad Detective, he retired from Ethyl Corporation as a Security Foreman.
His children and grandchildren will honor their father and “Papa” with a memorial service celebrating his love and life Sunday, September 3, 2017, at the Bentwater Yacht Club, 800 Bentwater Drive, Montgomery, TX 77356.
