Funeral services for Minnie Stanton, 76, of Buffalo, Texas, were Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at the Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo. Pastor Jack Smith, of Calvary Christian Center, officiated the service and interment followed in the Parker Cemetery in the Flo Community of Leon County.
Minnie Lou Stanton was born on November 19, 1940 in Corsicana, Texas to Gilbert “Pete” and Pearl (Keel) Pate. She attended Centerville High School and lived her whole life in the Leon County area. Minnie was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker, and she was well known for her cleanliness. She never stopped moving and going by always keeping herself busy with house cleaning and chores. Minnie attended the Assembly of God Church when she was able. She passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017 in Fairfield, Texas.
Minnie was preceded in death by both of her parents, husband, Floyd W. Stanton and brothers, Jerry D. Pate and Doug Pate.
Surviving family members include two sons, Wayne Stanton and Allen Stanton (wife, Wendy), all of Buffalo; three brothers, Leroy Pate (wife, Wanda) of Murchison, Nevelin Pate (wife, Jamie) of the Ninevah Community and Randy Pate (wife, Kaye) of the Flo Community; one sister, Sue House (husband, Billy) of Tool and granddaughter, Jalie Stanton. Minnie is also survived by eight nephews and two nieces.
Pallbearers were Jason Pate, Chris Pate, Stephen Pate, Watson House, Jerry House and Brian House. Honorary pallbearer was Michael Perez.
