Harlon Dean Tumlinson

Funeral services for Harlon Dean Tumlinson, 85, were held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Jewett. Bro. Tad Traylor officiated and Masonic Funeral Honors was given by members of Jewett Lodge #427. Interment followed the services at Little Flock Cemetery with an Honor Guard from the U. S. Army.
Mr. Tumlinson passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at M.D. Anderson Health Center in Houston.
Harlon Dean Tumlinson was born on January 5, 1932, in Jewett to Joseph Pink and Gertrude (Land) Tumlinson. His father was a Jewett area farmer, as was his grandfather, George Washington Tumlinson, his great-grandfather Thomas Tumlinson, and his uncle George Washington Tumlinson.
Dean was the youngest of ten children, and was preceded in death by his parents, Pink and Gertrude Tumlinson, and all of his siblings, Ernest, Harvey, Tennie, Evelenar, Bessie Mae, Joseph Elmer, Mattie Edale, Burma Faye, and Dee Roy. He was also preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Diana Lynn (Tumlinson) Dalrymple.
He is survived by his wife of over twenty-four years, Linda Tumlinson of Trinity; one daughter, Debora Tumlinson of Houston; two step-sons, Mark Lawler of Trinity and Scott Lawler of Houston; one step-daughter, Debbie Arsement of Maynard, Arkansas; several step-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dean wanted to return to his childhood home of Jewett, where he ran the pastures, creeks, and woods as a child and planned to come home. He will be buried next to his parents, siblings, grandparents, many cousins, uncles and aunts.
