Carol Scott Cessna

Funeral services for Carol Cessna, 84, were held on Friday, March 3, 2017, at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Jewett. Bro. Lee Weiler officiated. Interment followed the services at Marquez Cemetery.
Mr. Cessna passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana.
He was born in Marquez on March 21, 1932, to Green and Lillian (Evans) Cessna.
Mr. Cessna served for two years in the U. S. Army as an M. P. and spent time stationed in Germany. He worked as a supervisor in the Road Shop at Nucor in Jewett until taking an early retirement in 1995 to care for his wife. In his younger years he raised cattle, hogs, and horses. Mr. Cessna was well known for making and selling homemade salsa. He loved to raise a garden and enjoyed watching numerous sporting events on TV. He was a member of the All Around Cowboy Church in Marquez.
He is survived by one brother, George Cessna, and many other family and friends that love him.
Mr. Cessna was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Jean Cessna; his parents; and one sister, Lila Bell Cessna Wade.
