Gondal Mullenax, 70, of Marquez, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017, in Bryan, Texas. A memorial service was held, Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Buffalo, Texas. Bro. Lee Weiler officiated the service.
Richard Gondal Mullenax was born on December 8, 1946, in Palestine, Texas to Vallie and Mollie (Henson) Mullenax. He grew up in the Keechi Community of Leon County. Mr. Mullenax was a graduate of Buffalo High School and attended some classes at Sam Houston State University. He graduated from Commonwealth College of Mortuary Science in Houston and served his apprenticeship at Keever Funeral Home in Ennis, Texas. Mr. Mullenax then came back to Buffalo and opened Mullenax Mortuary. Later, he began selling real estate and opened an oil and gas business. Mr. Mullenax had lived most of his life in Leon County and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jewett.
Preceded in death by both of his parents and brother, Randy Mullenax.
Survived by his wife, Sandra Mullenax of Seale-Round Prairie; daughter, Mia Mullenax of Marquez; twin brother, Rondal Mullenax of Buffalo; sister, Cindy Port (Mike) of Buffalo and grandson, Blake Lowry of Marquez.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Gondal Mullenax request that memorial donations be made to a university scholarship fund for students who participate in the state level of UIL academics.
