Funeral service for Jimmy Charles McCoslin, 75, were held January 2, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home in Hearne, TX.
Jimmy passed away peacefully at Park Place Assisted Living in Bryan on December 31, 2016. He was a devoted father, son, grandfather and uncle.
Jimmy was born on July 13, 1941, in Jewett, TX. Upon graduating from high school, he proudly served in the United States Air Force where he graduated second in his advanced training.
Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Jimmy returned to Texas and became a lifelong resident of Hearne. He worked for Brazos Electric for 35 years and retired in 2007. Jimmy also faithfully served as a volunteer fireman and a reserve police officer.
Jimmy enjoyed fishing, hunting, the outdoors, watching football and spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by his father, E. H. “Doc” McCoslin.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother Mattie McCoslin of Hearne, daughter, Michelle Barrett, and husband Rick of Bryan, son James H. McCoslin and wife, Lesa, of Smithville, sisters Alice Miller and husband, Edwin of Buffalo, and Molly Stark and husband Billy of College Station, and brother Dennis McCoslin and wife, Barbara, 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Park Place Assisted Living for their outstanding care and support as well as Compassionate Care Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to First Baptist Church of Hearne, Park Place Assisted Living of Bryan, or Compassionate Care Hospice of Bryan.
Memorial Funeral Home of Hearne was in charge of the arrangements.
