Jeri Rich Bottoms

Funeral services for Jeri Rich Bottoms were be held on Monday, November 21, 2016, at 10:00a.m. at First Baptist Church in Jewett. Bro. Billy Bob Evans and Bro. Allen Crosby officiated. Interment followed the services at Russell Cemetery.
Mrs. Bottoms passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016, at Riverwood Nursing LTC in Madisonville.
She was born in Cleburne Co., Alabama, on September 2, 1935. She graduated from high school in Heflin, Alabama and married Elton (Buddy) Rich on July 9, 1953, and shared over fifty-four years of marriage together before being separated by his death in 2007. She traveled all over the United States with her husband’s pipelining occupation for many years, but Jewett was her home since the early 1950’s. Jeri was an avid sports fan and was a “die hard” Alabama Crimson Tide fan. She enjoyed playing dominoes and bridge and was part of a bridge club that met regularly. Mrs. Bottoms was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church in Jewett and enjoyed singing in the choir, and working with the youth.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty-four years, Elton (Buddy) Rich; her mother, Pearl Jones; her father, Austin Jefferson Jones; and nine siblings.
Mrs. Bottoms is survived by her husband, Dale Bottoms; three children, Jeranne, Coletta, and Kevin & wife Donna; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; four step-children, Dale Bottoms, Jr., Cliff Bottoms, Dianne Guthery, and Janis Holt and their families; other relatives and friends.
