Funeral services for Delbert Lennis McKinney, 61, of Centerville were held  Saturday, November 12, 2016, at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.  Bros. James and Jim Bob Gunnels officiated the service and interment followed in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Crockett, Texas.
Delbert Lennis McKinney was born on March 13, 1955 in Crockett, Texas to Delbert Leon and Margie Lee (Shoemaker) McKinney. He retired from his profession as a roughneck after nearly thirty-five years and was enjoying the “simple life.” This included numerous hours of fishing and hunting, which were Delbert’s favorite pastimes. He also loved spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren and children. Delbert had lived in Centerville for the past twenty-five years and was a member of the Victory Baptist Church. He passed away suddenly November 10, 2016 in Waco, Texas.
Preceded in death by his father, Delbert Leon McKinney; brother, David McKinney and infant nephew, Vernon Wayne Marsh.
Survived by mother, Margie McKinney of St. Augustine; sons, Charles “Chuck” McKinney of San Antonio and Christopher (Jeanette) Lehman of Killeen; daughters, Brandy (GaryPaul) Monthei of Centerville, Melanie (Kevin) McKinney of Santa Fe and Melissa (Gume) De La Rosa of Riviera; fiancee, Frances Daniels of Centerville and sister, Cynthia Louise “Sister” (Roy Lynn) McKinney of Centerville. Delbert was also proud “PawPaw Delbert” to twenty wonderful grandchildren, whom he adored.
Serving as pallbearers were GaryPaul Monthei, Gume De La Rosa, Kevin McKinney, Timothy McKinney, Austin Ralph, Jason Smith, Richard Rittinger and Vincent Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers were DeAnthony Hodges, Charles McKinney, Jason McKinney, Chris Lehman, Cody Lehman and Cameron Lehman.
