A memorial funeral service for Martin Henry “Buck” Grimes, 87, of Marquez was held Friday, October 21, 2016, at the Walters Funeral Home Chapel in Centerville, Texas.
Mr. Grimes passed away on October 15, 2016 at the Centerville Healthcare Center.
“Buck” Grimes was born on October 22, 1928, in Leon County, the son of Henry and Ruth (Copeland) Grimes. He was raised in Leon County before moving to Houston. In 1985, he moved back to Leon County. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed ranching and taking care of his cows. He worked for several years for Leon County Precinct 4. He played dominoes every Sunday with his wife and father-in-law.
Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen (Douthitt) Grimes; three daughters, Karen, Tammy and Robin and a son, Ricky Warner.
Survived by grandson, Jeremy Warner of Dickinson, Texas; granddaughter, Brittney Bockmon of Marquez; grandson, Zachary Miller of Centerville; grandson, Kelley McFarland of San Antonio; granddaughter, Kristen Strahan of Huffman, Texas; granddaughter, Jade Kocurek Matthews of Tomball; great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Landon, Jaydon, Race, Ainslee, Wesley, Kayla, Trevor, Haidyn, Chandler, Christopher, Shawn, Peyton and Jeremy Warner, Jr.; one great-grandchild on the way and a great-great-grandson, River.
