Maurine passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016, at the Groesbeck LTC.
Mrs. Chandler was born January 12, 1922, in Marquez, Texas, to Herbert and Lucille (Powell) Allison. She married Jack Galloway, of Franklin, Texas, December 13, 1941, becoming the wife of a military man.  Travel would always be a part of their life, taking them to new places as they raised their family. Retired, Jack and Maurine moved back to their country roots to Marquez. Jack passed away April 10, 1986.  Maurine would remarry, to Gerald Chandler, April 15, 1989.
Maurine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Though she held a variety of jobs during her life in a military family, her true love and talent was her art. She was a natural from her early years and increased her skill with studies with some well-known artists. She had a number of exhibitions, but loved teaching, organizing classes wherever she happened to be stationed at the time. She taught after retirement, in Leon County. There is no counting the number of years she was a Sunday School teacher except to say it was from young to old.
Maurine is survived by her children, Patricia Schmidt and husband Ken, of Jewett, Terrence Galloway and wife Polly, of Groesbeck, William Galloway and wife Karen, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Terry Lynn Chandler, of The Colony, Texas, and Ada Terrell, devoted friend. Eight grandchildren, Lori Robertson, Jason Schmidt, Cameron Schmidt, Chris Galloway, Jennifer Comparan, Taylor Galloway, Lynda Galloway, Benjamin Galloway; and fifteen great-grandchildren.  Survived also by sisters, Gayle Jenkins and Judith Allison; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Chandler was preceded in death by her husband Jack Galloway, and husband Gerald Chandler; son, Jack Galloway Jr., sister, Mable Cash Madden and great-granddaughter Brooklyn Schmidt.
Serving as Pallbearers; Dalton Bates, Garrett Robertson, Wyatt Robertson, Taylor Galloway, Travis Hines and Carl Lee Cash. Honorary Pallbearers; Dennis Hines, Jerry Duke, Ray Keipert, Glid Galloway.
